Epic of Gilgamesh
The Epic of Gilgamesh is an ancient Mesopotamian epic poem, considered one of the oldest surviving works of literature, that tells the story of Gilgamesh, the semi-divine king of Uruk. The poem explores themes of friendship, mortality, and the search for immortality, following Gilgamesh's adventures with his friend Enkidu, their encounters with gods and monsters, and Gilgamesh's eventual quest for eternal life after Enkidu's death
